Azumanga Daioh: The Drama, or, alternately, Azudorama Da Yo!, was the supposed title of a live action adaptation of Azumanga Daioh, based on the manga and anime. In the early 2000s, the rumour of its release was spread throughout Japan, though no air date was mentioned. It was proposed as a co-production with the TBS network (Tokyo Broadcasting System) and was said to have been sponsored by "Nacchan", an orange beverage made by the Japanese beverage maker Suntory. It was met with mixed response in both Japan and overseas, convincing many fans of the rumour being true.

The manga panel Kiyohiko Azuma used to falsify the rumour

When fans e-mailed Kiyohiko Azuma asking him to address if the rumour was true or not, he responded by posting an image from the manga where Kagura had been tricked by Osaka.

Thereafter, it was confirmed that it was all indeed a hoax. While no actual live action series was planned, the pictures were part of a media company's original submission of ideas that could be done with the license.[1]

To increase the credibility, presentation material for the fake series was created,[2] featuring casting announcements of the main characters (with two different actresses claimed to have been cast as Yomi) and Kimura.
