Kimura talks about how he prefers it when girls tuck their gym shirts into their shorts while teaching (which he also does himself), continuing his tradition of obsessing over teenage girls which the reader first finds out about in an earlier chapter.
Earlier, we find out about how Sakaki is good at sports, something which is largely referenced in this chapter.
Once again we see how Chiyo-chan and Osaka are both terrible at P.E.
Yukari and Nyamo went to see the real-life movie Runaway Bride together, which Yukari tries to deny, hoping to give off the impression that she went on a date.
Unanswered Questions[]
It is unknown why Kimura feels the urge to tell the entire class about how he likes the girls to wear their gym shirts, yet fails to understand why a male student asks whether Kimura likes it when the boys are tucked in.
Yukari attempts to give Kagura an anpan (a roll filled with jam made from sweet red beans) when she finds out that the latter is a good athlete. This was presumably in order to prevent Kagura from participating, but what she had spiked it with is not found out.
Nyamo says Yukari has not paid back ¥10,000 from before. We do not know when Yukari got in debt.

Osaka and Tomo feel sorry for Yukari because she has little luck in her love life due to her personality, which insults Yukari.
Yukari's obsession with winning the athletic festival is first seen here.
This is Kagura's official introduction. She has appeared before, but without her name being revealed. We also find out how good she is at sports, getting in second in the relay race next to Sakaki. Though it was seen before that she had swim team practice with Nyamo.
Class 3 wins the athletic festival, mostly thanks to Sakaki.
Kaorin gets to dance with her crush Sakaki, which is a dream come true for her, only to have the moment destroyed by Kimura who is her next dance partner. This is the first chapter where Kimura shows interest in Kaori, and, inappropriately for a teacher, calls her by her nickname.
